Johnson Screen

Slide one of these cartridges inside a filter vessel and it either sits over a perforated core or stands on its own as a self-supporting cylinder. Fluid comes in through the slots and leaves through the open center. Because the slot is wedge shaped, backwash flow can push trapped solids out in reverse, which is exactly why these Johnson Screen cylinders outlast woven mesh baskets on sticky or viscous service. End caps and side nozzles are welded to fit your vessel flange. On backwash jobs we add a central slotted core so the reverse flow spreads evenly along the whole barrel instead of punching through one local zone.

The reverse-flow slot lets a Johnson Screen self-clean during backwash, so you are not swapping baskets by hand every few days. All welded construction removes the weave slip that loosens in mesh baskets, and the smooth outside resists fibrous wrapping. Open area stays high relative to slot size.
